HD PRODUCTION CREW
Writer: We work with a variety of writers of HD television shows including Saturday Night Live, According to Jim, The Simpsons, countless documentaries onDiscovery Networks, A and E, History Channel, studio features and independent features. The head writer, in some circumstances, is credited as an executive producer and/or series producer, in which case they would oversee all high definition crew. Saturnalia Productions can handle original scripts as well as polishes and rewrites.
Show Runner: Saturnalia employs a variety of show runners in television. Traditionally, a HD show runner oversees all aspects of a production including making certain that the production is professionally executed by qualified high definition crew, delivered on time, and under budget. An HD show runner could is also referred to as a HD series producer or Executive Producer.
Producer: In a credit roll a producer can mean various things. At its core, a producer of a high definition production is usually someone who facilitates actualization of the production. In other words, a HD producer would is responsible in part for keeping the HD production company on course, and reports directly to the Show Runner / HD series producer.
Technical Producer: In the age of digital / HD cameras and digital workflow, it is important to have aproducer who can hire and communicate with the appropriate high definition crew. The technical producer is also responsible for ensuring proper HD workflow and identifying the proper equipment to execute the high definition workflow.
Line Producer: The line producer is responsible for keeping the HD production company on target for all line items associated with a budget. Variations in the budget are discussed either with the Producer or Executive Producer.
Production Coordinator: The production coordinator is tasked with keeping all high definition crew notified of call time, lunch time and wrap time. The production coordinator for an HD production company is also responsible for keeping every and everything on time.
Associate Producer: An associate producer for an high definition production company assists the producer in his/her responsibilities. By definition, the associate producer works extremely closely with and reports to the producer.
Director: The director works with all high definition crew, but mainly works closely with the actors to ensure that their performances are sound and compliment the overall aesthetic and intention of the HD production.
First Assistant Director: The assistant director assists the director – wrangling performers and HD crew and keeping all aspects of a HD production on time, focused and on task.
HD Director of Photography: In a high definition production company, the Director of Photography is responsible for the quality of the images and aesthetic captured to tape or data. The Director of Photography works closely with the director to capture the nuances and intended aesthetic of the performance or scene.

High Definition Cameraman: The high definition cameraman is the man or woman, who actually physically operates an HD camera like a f900, Red, Viper, etc. The are responsible for the pans, tilts, zooms etc. This position is also sometimes referred to as an HD camera operator or camera person. One of the owners is an HD cameraman and has operated a large variety of HD cameras since 1999. He has shot thousands of hours around the world. Assistant Cameraman: The assistant cameraman helps the HD cameraman with whatever tasks he or she may need done during the course of an HD production. These responsibilities can include focus pulling, moving the tripod, moving the camera, switching filtration, helping situate the camera, etc.
Gaffer: The gaffer works closely with the HD Director of Photography to decide on, and implement, the lighting scheme associated with a scene.
Grip: On an HD production, grip(s) are sometimes hired to move, rig and implement the lighting scheme of the gaffer and/or director of photography.
Digital Imaging Technician: The DIT is new position associated with HD crew. The digital imaging technician is responsible for the nuances of a digital / HD camera. Since cameras, like the f900 camera, are essentially computers with a HD lens attached it is important to have someone on the set of a high definition production, who understands every nuance and electronic circuit of the HD camera. In a camera like the f900 camera, the digital imaging technician can manipulate the camera menus not only to make certain that the HD camera is capturing images properly, but that it is recording the images with a specific color-corrected look. The digital imaging technician works closely with the HD director of photography in order to decide on the look being captured to tape or data. On smaller productions, the D.I.T. can also double as an assistant cameraman or even an HD camera operator. Media manager: An on-set media manager, or data wrangler, is another name for a digital imaging technician. The media manager / data wrangler has become the term associated with the person responsible for Red Camera media / data on set. Soundman: The soundman, or sound person, is pretty self-descriptive. It is the person on a high definition crew who is responsible for recording sound. Sometimes, on smaller HD productions, this person may double as the boom operator as well.

Make-up Artist: The make-up artist handles all make-up and touch-ups during the course of production. Sometimes they will also do hair, but this violates union rules, if indeed the production in union.
Production Assistant: An HD production company should hire several production assistant to flesh-out the high definition crew. The position is relatively inexpensive and will prevent key personnel from performing menial jobs and being distracted from their true responsibilities.
